The magnificent Heceta Lighthouse sits on the beautiful Oregon Coast of the Pacific Ocean. Know as one of the most majestic settings along the west coast. The painting depicts the first lighthouse keeper and his family receiving supplies from the Tender rose ship. The family received supplies about once a month by boat. The roads were so difficult to maneuver this was the best way. You can visit Heceta Lighthouse and spend the night in the old house. The B&B is operated by the national forest service. Look closely and you can see me in the lower right painting the painting. The girl in the yellow dress is Jenny Avery....the first lighthouse keepers daughter.
