Artist's Description
When I was in high school, I had the great opportunity to attend school at the Colegio Americano De Guatemala School located in Guatemala City.
I traveled all over Central America and the location that captured my imagination the most was "Tikal". The great Mayan Pyramids are located here. The jungle surrounding the area was so filled with life. The Quetzal Birds were everywhere. Hummingbirds of great color would blend in with the wild orchids hanging from the trees. The scene was visually was left on my mind forever. The paintings is painted on board. Layers and layers of primer ...then a bronze under glaze. The painting was painted with layers and layers of detail...then bronze glaze one more time. The painting just glows!
